"I Thought I Was a Teenager"

I trimmed Lily's hair a few days ago and she was dying to look in the mirror.
We finished up, blow dryed it under and then she ran to her room to take a look.
Upon returning to report she says, "Mom, I looked in the mirror and I thought I was a teenager!"
Don't ask for the car keys yet my dear!

A Break in the Clouds

January 30, 2010

The last week and a half of January was full of rain, drizzle, fog, and more rain. Don't get me wrong,  I definitely love a good downpour, especially if it includes thunder and lightening! However, it was quite refreshing to get a break in the clouds last Saturday. We took advantage and went for a little walk at Asilomar Beach.

It was fun trying to get to know my new camera.

Sean teaching the girls how to skip rocks.

Daisy looking for a nice small, flat stone to skip.

Not quite what Sean had in mind but they made a fun splash.

Sweet Lily.

"Queen of the world!" ~Lily

I loved this weathered piece of abalone. Of course a wave got it before I could pick it up. I was seeing how close my camera could get without getting fuzzy.

I want to learn how to take "real" pictures! I think I might frame the one above. Practice, practice, practice.

Forcing Daisy to take a pic with me.

Running free. Ahh, sunshine!

Nikki and Sammy Come Visit

January 2, 2010
My B.F.F. Nikki came to visit for a day with her boyfriend, now FIANCE...squeal...Sam. He also grew up with us which is another reason why I am so incredibly happy for them! I witnessed their first kiss in the 6th grade and now...ahh... it has come full circle. Loooovvve it!

We went and had lunch at the Fish Hopper on Cannery Row.

Lily and Daisy both tried their first bites of seafood (calamari and crab) and liked it. I don't touch the stuff which some say is a waste living in a prime spot for fresh seafood. Se la vi! Just because I don't cook it at home doesn't mean I don't want them to eat it, so I was glad to have them at least try it.

We drove down the coast and explored a few little trails,

and Lily beat Sammy in a game or two or three of UNO.
The day went too fast! I am looking forward to the NM wedding!
