We got up super early to be towards the front of the line to enter the happiest place on earth. When the ticket taker swiped our tickets they kept coming up invalid...what? How much money did we spend on these and their coming up invalid??? Turns out the "D-land discount" Sean found online was a hoax. The "deal" actually bought the tickets for us, sent us the email to print off, and then refunded their money. NOT a good start to our day. Well...we couldn't disappoint 2 little wide-eyed girls who were dying to get in, so the kids and I waited at the gate while Sean went to a different line to buy 4 more ridiculously expensive tickets. It was MEGA packed to the point I took permanent marker and wrote on my girls shoes and shirts "If lost, please call..." I should have just written it on their arms and legs! The lines were outrageous and getting through the park with a stroller even worse. I don't know what we were thinking when we decided the week after Christmas would be a good time to take our kids to D-land. Lots of lessons were learned this trip. The second day was a bit better once we learned to use the fast passes but the waits were still crazy. Anyway, here are a few pics from the happiest most miserable place on earth.
Disneyland trip 2011.
I was so grateful we brought snacks and suckers to appease the kiddos while waiting.
Lily hiding from the wicked witch. I remember hiding at the bottom of the boat as a kid in Pirates of the Caribbean. Happy memories, right?
Holly not sure what to think of It's a Small World.
The Christmas parade was awesome but we had to go way early to get a seat on the cold cement.
The Christmas decor was beautiful, especially at night. Sean took the younger two to the hotel so Lily and I could watch Fantasmic...a must! It was chilly though!
I love this pic of Lily with Brer Bear, it reminded me of this one way back when. He hasn't changed much in over 25 years. Me, on the other hand...
The lines to meet most of the characters were beyond my patience level but we endured at least one to meet Fawn and Tinkerbell. They made the girls feel so special.
It was truly an exhausting vacay, especially with little ones, but memories were made and they were mostly good. So...success! I think D-land can wait for another 10 years before we visit again. That way we can ride everything and Daisy won't freak out as I force her into the log on Splash Mountain. Ya, the ride operator asked us to get off. I know she would have loved it once we got started, dangit! Ahh, quality family time!
And that, folks, is the end of 2011! I can now get my 2011 blog printed off! Yea! I only have to get 2012 done and then you can all be up to date with our lives. :) Miss me? Ha!
