Conroy Tidbits

Did you know that the definition of tidbit is actually a "choice morsel". Here are some choice morsels from the past few weeks.
Lily and Daisy walking with our friends' dog Mowgli.

Creating snail abodes.

Savoring Summer! The few and far between sunny days.

Lily's manicure courtesy of Poppas and Panda from Christmas. She still gets to go back for a pedicure! Uptown baby!

Daisy continues to use the Wii more than we do!

Toad catch at the Big Red Barn. I heart this pic! (Thanks Sarah)
Dizzy Day in the park (Thanks Shauna).

Berry picking at Gizditch Ranch

After berry picking we stopped at Moss Landing and saw the biggest raft of sea-otters I have ever seen! I counted 47!

Yesterday, Shawna B. called me and said "just so you know there are like 100 dolphins down by Cannery Row headed your way if you wanted to take the girls down..." Ummm... heck ya, we hopped in the car and sped down to the water. Sure enough there were at least 100 dolphins porpoising through the bay. We ran back to the house to get some binoculars, my glasses, and the camera. We followed them along the coastline for a while. I so wish that was me in the boat. This was the best photo I took, all those black specks are dorsal fins. You might want to click on it to get a better look. If your into that sort of thing. This was so cool for me!

Old Friends in Town

May 23, 2009
Where we live A LOT of people come and go. Upside: get to meet tons of amazing and unique people. Downside: just when strong friendships develop, they move. Well, some of those friends came back for a visit and what greater way to reminisce together than a bonfire!

Channa (visiting from Ogden), Steph, April (visiting from Fresno), and me.

The boys and babes. Jacob, something is missing, looks like its time for #4! HA!

The girls, Steph, Sarah, Me, Channa, and April. So when are you guys moving back?

Annual Photo Shoot

Every April I take pictures of the girls in the purple flowers that bloom 2-3 months out of the year. I have done it since Lily was a newborn. This year had two sessions because Daisy broke down during the first one. I just barely got around to the second session (is it June already?) so the flowers aren't as vibrant and in full bloom the second time around. Se la vi! Here is what I captured.
My Sweet Lily Ann

Daisy, who rarely smiles for the camera, let alone sits still for it. I took the above photo and then she decided the soft cushy flowers were attacking her or something and hence would not stop flipping out.

So, before session 2 I caught this rare photo of my daughter smiling. What you can't see is my hand on her tummy holding her back and tickling it. She always moves forward because she wants to see herself on the camera.

Ms. Serious (Once again with my arm stretched out holding her in place).

So, Session 2 began and Daisy was too busy to even glance at me...

She was on a mission to simply keep moving!

She did smile once while run, run, running.

and then stopped to touch,

and smell the flowers (her smelling expression while blowing in and out of her nose).

I guess expecting an almost 15 month old to pose for the camera was unrealistic. At least she's not crying, right?!

Sisters.
Lily exploring.
I'm a little sad the flowers weren't as vibrant as they were in April but there is always next year...that is if I am not in slacker mode.
