What Happened To My Newborn?

My little DP is officially 11 months old today. It boggles my mind to think she is almost a year old! I'm in denial. Maybe it's because I haven't shed all my baby weight yet, or maybe it's because well, she's my baby. "They are only little once, soak in all the moments you can" was some of the best advice I think I ever received. With each rough day or long night I try to remind myself 'she's only little once'. I have tried to hold her close just a little longer and savor each tiny milestone and expression.

This first year flies by with an INCREDIBLE amount of change!

I was rearranging some decor and she started giving kisses to Jesus. It was so sweet. Busy.

Miss Daisy I love your snuggles, slobber kisses, waddles, "dada's" and 7 1/2 teeth!

"Um, no it's OK!"

This is Lily's buddy Gavin. I told Lily it was OK to give our friend's kisses on the cheek but upon repeated smooches I told her to leave Gavin alone and that he had had enough. Gavin replied,"Um, no it's OK!"
Should I be worried? I know Sean is! :)

Gushy

I hope everyone had a lovey, gushy, schmoopy Valentine's Day! OK, not necessarily gushy but at least told someone that you love them, even your mom!

When I woke up, Sean and Lily had notes written and placed all over; inside the cupboards and on the windows. But I think my favorites were:

The fridge, (upon looking for the milk I found this:

and the toilet. That one was a surprise!

Combine that with a gift card to Olive Garden and I am a happy woman! We actually united with some friends and swapped babysitting so Sean and I were able to go to an early dinner. Chicken with black bean sauce from P.F. Chang's is my new scrumptious favorite! We were done with dinner and wondered what we should do next with our free time. I told Sean I was disappointed there was no scavenger hunt planned for me. HA! Remember those days? On the way back to pick up the kids we remembered we had left some of our dishes at the church from the party the night before and so we stopped to pick them up. Well, there was a whole gym and basketball's waiting to be put to use. Upon kicking his trash in HORSE, (alright so he won, but I gave him a run for his money) I pulled off an amazing shot where I banked it off the rafters of the ceiling and into the basket. We both couldn't believe I made it. But you should have seen Sean imitate my cartwheel shot. I got him on that one. After HORSE we played some pepper with the Volleyball (man I miss that) and hit a few pitches with the bat (no idea there was so much equipment in that gym closet). Anyway, it ended up being so much fun and ALMOST like we were dating again. Thanks to Sarah and Jeff for watching our kids so we could be "spontaneous"!
This was Sean's Valentine. What says 'I love you' more than another Wii remote and date night bank? Yep, just call me gushy!

And of course my little Valentine's
DP (Daisy Patricia) and Lil.

January Tidbits

Here are a few happenings from January.
Daisy LOVES Wii Fit! Every time we do the running she squeals, crawls over to the entertainment center, and takes this tip-toe position. She then proceeds to giggle and bounce up and down.
Superbowl Sunday we had a Nacho party and had a visit from our friends Karey, Linz and their new, beautiful babies!
A Saturday trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Just can't get enough of this place. Lily, her buddy Cal, Daisy and Sean in the wave crash tunnel. Daisy and her buddy Tes checking each other out. Daisy loves grabbing Tes' face! The skeleton shrimp weren't the only animal's under magnification. I love this one of Lily teaching Daisy about the bat star. (I let her take it out of the water when the volunteer wasn't looking. Shhh, don't tell, they may not let me work there again.) Daisy playing in the Splash Zone toddler area. She loves sucking on the fish. Sister's having fun. I repaired our broken table, even though I secretly want to trash that thing.C-O-O-L R-I-D-E-R (You have seen Grease II too many times if you actually sang that.)
Daisy giving Daddy loves. She is so sweet when she lays her head on you and makes an 'ahhhh' sound. She is getting good at her kisses too (as you can see from our new header).

Power Trip?

Is it normal for the first child to continually try to contain the second child? Daisy doesn't mind so much now,but I have a feeling she is going to start fighting back soon. At least Lily provides toys and entertainment for her.

Tag I'm It!

I was tagged by Sarah L. and this one didn't require 100 things people don't know about me. So, here I go,
1-Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on your computer.
2- Select the 4th picture in the folder.
3- Explain the picture
4- Tag 4 people to do the same.

Our friends Jake and April blessed their twins in 2006 up in San Raphel and this was taken outside of their church building. I can't believe how little Lily is!

I tag whoever needs something to update their blog! Have at it.
